I’m proud to announce today that my cocktail pop-up/supper club, Midnight Brunch, has partnered with KitchenAid’s 1,000 Cooks for the Cure initiative to host a special kickoff event this month for up to 25 local bloggers who commit to joining their 1,000 Cooks for the Cure.
This initiative has taken on special meaning for me this year, as my grandmother (who raised me with my grandfather for several years) was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily, her doctors have caught it quite early but it doesn’t make it any less important to do what we can to fund additional cancer research in hopes for creating a cure.
Here’s how Midnight Brunch is partnering with KitchenAid:
  • Any blogger who agrees to help us spread the message and/or host a party of their own will have the chance to attend a special edition of Midnight Brunch, the traveling cocktail pop-up and supper club produced by Emily Cavalier (that’s me) of Mouth of the Border.
  • The event, called Midnight Brunch Cooks for the Cure with KitchenAid, will take place in Manhattan on Thursday, July 19, 2012. The cocktail hour will take place from 10pm-11:30pm, followed by a seated meal from 11:30am-1 am. The location will be revealed closer to the event date, but you should know that it is convenient to all trains at 34th St./Herald Square, including the PATH and NJ Transit trains.
  • Midnight Brunch guests will go home with a special, limited edition gift from KitchenAid as a token of their appreciation for their support of 1,000 Cooks for the Cure.
  • To be entered for the chance to attend this event, all you need to do is A) agree to include the information below about the 1,000 Cooks for the Cure initiative on your blog by July 19, 2012; B) agree to host a party (see below for party information) sometime between July 20-July 29, 2012, or C) both.
I’m linking to more information below about the 1,000 Cooks for the Cure program.

Essentially, we encourage people to host a party (of any kind) at their home anytime from July 20-July 29. Rather than bring a housewarming gift, food or wine, the guests could instead bring a small donation for Susan G. Komen for the Cure to help in the fight against breast cancer.Any party host that raises $50 or more will receive a free plate designed by Jacques Pepin in the mail, and anyone who hosts a party and registers it on our website will automatically be entered to receive the ultimate “thank you” from Jacques Pepin himself!

For my readers, whether you’d like to host a party or simply just let your blog readers know about the program, we’d appreciate any help you’d be willing to give.
Here is some further information about the program as well as places you can link your readers to:
This edition of Midnight Brunch is by invitation only. If you did not receive a personal invitation today, and are interesting in supporting the initiative and attending this event, please email me directly at emily {at} mouthoftheborder.com.

If you’re not able to host a party or post about the program on your blog, we would appreciate any effort to spread the word. You can share the following tweet to your followers or share this update on Facebook to bring more recognition to the program:

Join @KitchenAidUSA in the fight against breast cancer, host a fundraising party from 7/20-7/29. Info: http://ow.ly/bOGkv #cookforthecure

I hope you can join us!
