Questions that Need Answers: What do I drink with brains?

The answer, as it turns out, is a light and fruity white. The default wine for these occasions seems to be a Riesling or Gewurtstraminer, but I don't enjoy either of those. In the course of my wine hunt on the day of the Gastronauts dinner, I found a great pairing in the Conundrum blend from Caymus Vineyard in Napa. What makes it perfect for spicy food (and brains) is the sweet Muscat-Canelli grape. I first learned about this wine on my trip to Napa last year. My friend Frank runs social media for Caymus and I had a chance to taste some of their incredible reds (but not their Conundrum). I was so excited when we opened the bottle and my hunch turned out to be right. Conundrum is widely available in NYC, but if you need help finding it clicky here.
